Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT) was established 50 years ago in 1971 to develop, manufacture, upgrade and repair military vehicles such as Army tanks, tank guns and other ammunition and artillery. It is a state defense company authorized by the Ministry of Defense Production (MoDP). The organization also provides engineering services related to the development of crytrons and the production of military equipment for the armed forces. The company is based on three main divisions namely Production Division, Construction Division and Support Division.
